SET-UPs:

Acoustic 6 string $40

Every instrument is setup to your personal playing style. There are 4 main steps to a set-up, and these have to be done in order:

Adjust the neck,
Adjust the nut slots,
Adjust the saddles for radius and height,
Adjust the saddles for intonation, with Peterson strobe tuner.

A set-up also includes:

Adjust pickup heights
Spray pots and switches
Adjust tremolo or tailpiece
Full detail cleaning
Clean and oil fretboard
Polish frets
Tap in any loose frets
Tighten loose hardware
Stretch strings
Lubricate string slots, tuners

These adjustments done in proper relationship to one another will often produce remarkable results. Sometimes the adjustments aren’t quite enough. Most often in this case the guitar needs fretwork.

FRET WORK:

All fret work is done on the Erlewine neck jig:

Full fret level and crown $90

Full re-fret (includes: level fretboard, level and crown frets):

Unbound $250
Bound $275
Lacquered maple $320
Ebony fret board + $40
Stainless steel + $75

Partial re-frets:

On acoustic guitars the frets are rarely worn above the 15th fret, so a partial refret often makes sense - $200 for unbound, $225 for bound. (Includes full level, crown)

Another common partial re-fret is the first 7 frets - $150 for unbound, $175 for bound. (Includes full level, crown)

NUT and SADDLE

Bone nut, custom $60
Tusq or graphite pre-slotted nut $50
Bone or Tusq acoustic saddle $40
Earvana compensated nut -- $50 to $70 labor (there are two types) plus $35 - $41 parts
